A Discussion on the Changes and Progress of Design-related Terms

Design styles and etymology of related terminology, while they started progressing and evolving since 1850s, left track in documents of modern design history. Various design professionalisms further created more terminology and jargons.In Chinese, what is the origin of the modern term “design” To answer it, this research sorts old documents, studies the etymology of design terminology, examines the interplay between the evolving terms.
